Our Values
Our values aren't just words without meaning. They are intuitive and feel personal to us all.
Through every interaction we have, every decision we make, throughout everyone’s Student Roost journey, from their first day to their last; we will live our values.
Commit to growth, together
This is our purpose. Our North Star value. We commit to the growth of our people, the business, our profits, our residents' experience and our reputation.
We understand our collective responsibility to provide an environment where everyone can feel comfortable to grow personally and professionally.
Whatever your aspirations, everyone deserves a lift - whether it be in your skillset, your capabilities, your confidence or mood. From formal training to a helping hand... We lift each other.
Play to win
We work hard and we play hard. We’re here to win, but we don’t lose sight of the fact that we spend more time at work than anywhere else, so it needs to be enjoyable.
Winning means being brave and ambitious. It means learning and moving on from mistakes. It means holding ourselves to account through our Roost Winning Metrics and celebrating every success.
You, do you
Be yourself, everyone else is taken. We’re a diverse bunch and we welcome and embrace our differences. Because everyone benefits when you can be yourself.
We bring our whole selves to work: our different backgrounds, cultures, perspectives, experiences and thoughts, and we’re richer because of our diversity. We judge people on their contribution, not the colour of their hair.
Your presence as a part of Student Roost is valued; and it’s better when you’re here.
Do the right thing
Do the right thing, even when no one is looking. Have the courage to speak up, challenge when something’s not right, or when it can be better.
Find your voice and know it matters. Don’t stay in your lane: want more. This will mean having the moral courage even if it feels difficult.
Always doing the basics right; we are safe, legal and compliant. We listen and we act. Our residents and our people will inform our decision making.
